Emma Lee Did Well In The Show

Emma Lee starts the day off with "under 8 showmanship." She was the only one who went out there by herself and smiled while chewing gum. The judge fell in love with her from the very start and she won first place in showmanship. Then she took Isabelle back out for the spring hefer division and Isabelle won her class. According to Aunt Gaye Emma Lee worked all day and would not leave Isabelle for anything, not even to play around! Then she did pretty cow where she was strawberry shortcake and her theme was "Milk is for Sharing." When the judge comes to her to ask about her advertisement she pulls out a strawberry milk and asks him, "Would you like to share my milk?" The bribe worked!

Getting Ready for the Cow Show in Pontotoc

Emma Lee and Sandy get last minute pointers before going into the ring!

Thank goodness Aunt Gaye knows how to dress Sandy! The girls would be lost without her!!!

Gus makes sure his cow has clean ears...He is really good at what he does!

Aunt Nana can do 2 things at once...talk on the phone and prepare for a show!

Yes that is a power tool in Sandy's hand but Tink will not have any extra holes!

Emma Lee loves Isabelle and is feeding her. She did not leave Isabelle's side all day long! What a great Cow Girl!

4th of July

We enjoyed a great family day on the 4th of July at Mom and Dad's this year. This is the one time of the year that we all just bring whatever to eat, find a few fireworks, and fellowship with family we don't see every day! It was a great day!!!

I'm finally an Aunt to a Sanderson

Funny how things work. I come from an outstanding family, and while growing up I thought it was huge; however, after marriage into the Garner family I now realize I had no clue what huge was. I mean I am the oldest of 4 grandkids and 2 of the 4 are my brother and myself. I have wonderful memories of playing with my cousins, my aunts and uncles, and my grandparents. The kids always sat at a table together and occassionaly Uncle David would sit with us which scared cousin Amanda and thrilled Bennett! Until Sandy was born in 1998 there had not been any children (well if you look at ages and not actions) in our family for quite a while. Boy life has never been the same since then!

However this is not true on my IN LAW side! Jesse is one of 5 children and has several other cousins that I try very hard to keep straight. In 1995 when I officially entered this wonderful family I automatically became an aunt to 5 neices and nephews. Now at this point there are 12 neices and nephews and only 3 of them belong to Jesse and me. Needless to say I now know the definition of HUGE! Thankfully they are all loving and sweet people that God has blessed me with in my life; however, there are still times when I find it overwhelming!

OK OK I say all this to annouce that I am finally an aunt to someone on my side of the family!!!!! Laurel Day Sanderson is my newest neice. She is beautiful and here is the one picture I stole off of Bennett's blog.

I can't wait to get to hold her myself and let her cousins play with her! Welcome to the world Laurel! Love, Aunt Miriam
