The Tupelo Fireants were honoring the National Guard and other military divisions at their last home game so I decided to take Sandy. One of my past majorettes is a dancer for the fireants now and I wanted to see her too. Sandy and I decided to take a friend with us, Kelli Doss. That is who is in the picture with Sandy. We sat about 4 rows from the front row and had a great time. The only bad part was that I knew Jesse would have loved to be there. After the game Sandy wanted to eat at Logans (the peanut place as she calls it) and that is where she and Kelli made this great picture.

I have not sent out this blog site to anyone yet. Don't know why, but it could have something to do with the fact that I have not sat down at the computer long enough to post anything in recent days. Anyway, if you are reading this then I obviously took the time to do something. I know I am an English teacher but please do not check my grammar or spelling, for this is something I am doing in haste. We have an update on Jesse and will be putting them here and hopefully at some point getting all the back ones on here too. Who knows how that will go.

Jesse's words:
Sorry it has been along time since I have written, but we have been very busy
lately. I have moved once again to FOB Dogwood and hopefully it will be my
last move until I move home. I was able to stay in my very nice individual can
with an airconditioner for about 8 nights. The living conditions are a little
cramped right now but the navy seabees are working on getting us some smaller
tents. I surely hated to leave Hotel Company of the 2/11, because they took us
in like family ;however, it is really nice to be back around our company after
two and a half months of being gone. We were very busy around TQ, and they
fought to keep us there but in the end we were moved. I want to thank the good
folks at FB church for all the Sunday School books and prayer cards. They have
meant so much to me. I can't wait to get back in Sunday School with Mr Jerrell
Dearman teaching (he is such a good teacher). I miss all of yall at the church
and can't wait to rejoin all of yall. We appreciate all of the prayers yall
ask for us. In one of my devotions I studied about contentment , and I'm
really praying on trying to be at peace with my situation here. God has really
been good to us, and I pray for his blessings to continue. Without Him I know I
couldn't have gotten this far.
Love to you all,
Jesse
PS If any one sees Mr Fred Thompson tell him Jesse said he misses him too and
then kick him in his rearend.
Jesse

So many of you have been so kind and gracious to my family and I. There is no way for me to thank each of you individually mostly because I don't know who did some of the nice things for us such as paying for Sandy, Emma Lee, and my dinner all year long at church and the day that someone in a white surburan or some other pitiful cheverlet SUV type thing paid for our lunch at KFC. Those small acts of kindness have not gone unthought of, in fact I think of them often.

Just to update everyone on the family:
Bennett finally found a nice young lady, Jana, to marry. Have not figured out what is wrong with her but the girls love her so I guess she is just plain crazy. I have been praying for her sanity to return before she takes on this person that I grew up with but I don't think it will matter.

Sandy is finished with ball. That last game is always a mix of feelings. I hated doing ball without Jesse because he works so well with those children and it brings such joy to his life, but God sent me a good substitute this year in Andy Harmon. We had LOTS of fun but it is starting to get hotter and hotter every day so I would rather just watch the Cardinals on TV or in person.

Emma Lee is "devilish" as described by Momma Dell (Jesse's mom). She is 2 1/2 and brings lots of joy everywhere she goes but she likes to see you squirm too. Now she is not a terrible 2 she is just....mischievious, yeah i think that is a good word for it.

Now as for myself I will save that for another post. Maybe tonight when I can't sleep or tomorrow when I finish painting the hallway.
Love to you all!

In the beginning

Today I join the world of blogging. I thought this might be a good way to allow people to keep up with not only my crazy thoughts but also those of Jesse's. Check us out to read his emails from Iraq and to catch up on what the 2 girls and I are doing. Hopefully before long there will be a chance to share in Jesse's homecoming also. Thanks goes out to all of you who are praying for his safe return and that Sandy, Emma Lee, and I can manage to keep it all together until that time.
