Aunt Gaye and Trent

Momma Dell wanted us to feel like Jesse was there with us so she and Sonya and Mindy decided to create a display that honored him. One year one of the kids used "Real Heros Drink Milk" as their pretty cow theme. We used it for the display. Jesse by the way has a big Milk mustache in the picture. Momma Dell had many people stop by and talk to her about it.

Garner and Lee enter the Pretty Cow competition as Indians and dressed Persnickidee as the Pilgrim and themed it "Give thanks for Milk."

Sandy is a Dairy Sweetheart

This weekend at the State Fair Sandy participated in the Dairy Sweetheart competition. This is a process of interviewing and proving your knowledge and activities in the dairy world. This is Sandy's first time to do this and she placed 3rd. We were all very proud of her. I think she was kinda glad she did not win because the winner has to spend all day Saturday handing out the prizes to the winners. When she came back to us afterwards, all she said to me with a big grin was, "I sure am glad Rachel won. She is so sweet." It is so nice that Sandy and Emma Lee can make such good friends from all over doing this and have such a good attitude about winning and losing. I'm not sure Sandy even thinks of it as losing.

Emma at the State Fair

Emma Lee left Thursday for the state fair in Jackson. She is not quite old enough to do all the showing but she did get to do the Pretty Cow competition on Friday night. She dressed up as a moovie star and Blossoms blanket said, "Moovie Stars love milk." She had the crowd eating out of her hands as she walked the ring blowing kisses and waving. She won 3rd place out of about 15 to 20 competitors. The cow she is laying on is Blossom and basically she and and cousin Lee share it. It belongs to Lee but he is nice enough to let her love it and play with it. These Jersey cows know who love them!!! Emma Lee worked hard helping out and had fun riding the ferris wheel with Claire.
